ABIGAIL LUNA

DIRECTOR

Crecer en una escuela Montessori de ejecutar por su familia, Abigail es una 2ª generación de Montessori, educadora. Ella recibió su formal de enseñanza Montessori en "los Maestros Montessori Centro de Educación de San Francisco" y siguiendo los pasos de su familia, compró su propia escuela en un clásico Victoriano traer un ambiente cálido y muy unida sentir para sus estudiantes.

Abigail continúa su educación en los Negocios y la actual Montessori Filosofías con el fin de proporcionar la mejor atención de calidad en un ambiente cálido y amoroso ambiente donde los niños pueden divertirse y experimentar el cuidado, fomento y dirección con el fin de optimizar su potencialidad en el desarrollo social y emocional.

MARIA ELENA MORENO

TEACHER

Maria Elena is an Early Childhood Education Teacher originally from Colombia, bringing over 10 years of experience working with children and families. She is also a dedicated mother to two children—a 14-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl.

A passionate community leader, Maria Elena spent five years working with PAVE as a Parent Organizer for the Latino Parents Group, focusing on identifying and addressing the educational needs of the Latino community in Washington, DC. Beyond education, she is a certified therapist in Reiki, meditation, and massage, and teaches metaphysical courses. Her mission centers on supporting the community through high-quality education, health and wellness, conscious nutrition, yoga, meditation, quantum healing, and energy cleansing.

Maria Elena also shares her love for music by offering Spanish music therapy classes for children aged 0–6 and adults.

RUBEN QUINONES

TEACHER

Ruben Pic

Ruben Quiñones is a certified Orff-Schulwerk music teacher with a master’s degree in Music Education from San Jose State University. For five years, he taught general music at St. Philip Neri Catholic Elementary and Middle School, where he inspired students to explore creativity through rhythm, movement, and song.

In addition to classroom teaching, Ruben offers private lessons in guitar, drums, ukulele, and bass guitar, sharing his love for music with learners of all ages. He is passionate about introducing children to instruments, dances, and songs from cultures around the world, fostering both musical skill and cultural appreciation.

Since moving to Alameda in 2018, Ruben has been an active member of the community. His daughter, Lydia, is now in TK after spending three years at Luna’s Montessori Bilingual School, deepening the family’s ties to the local education community.

ARLETH ROCHA

TEACHER

With over two decades of experience working with children of all ages, Arleth brings both professional expertise and a nurturing presence to Luna’s Montessori School. She holds an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Development and Education from Chabot College, along with a certification in Positive Discipline, and is currently pursuing her Montessori certification to deepen her knowledge and practice.

Before joining Luna’s, Arleth worked as a private childcare educator, where she introduced Spanish to children by weaving language learning into play and daily routines. This experience strengthened her ability to support families, establish healthy structures, and create enriching learning environments.

Arleth is passionate about guiding children with patience, creativity, and encouragement. At Luna’s Montessori, she is dedicated to fostering a warm and supportive atmosphere where children can grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity. Her love for organization also inspired her to earn a certification in Interior Planning (Things in Place), allowing her to design harmonious and orderly spaces that nurture learning and development.

ARLETH ROCHA

MS. KIMBERLY

SPANISH TEACHER

Kimberly has been working with children and families since 2019, and she brings an energy that is both warm and fun to the classroom. As the Spanish Program Teacher, she creates an engaging and supportive environment where children are introduced to the Spanish language through play, music, movement, and hands-on activities. Her bubbly personality and big smile help make learning a new language feel exciting, natural, and confidence-building.

Outside of teaching, Kimberly is a licensed hairstylist and enjoys expressing her artistic side through beauty, arts and crafts, and DIY projects. She believes creativity isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way to bring joy and imagination into everyday life, something she also shares with her students as they explore language and culture.

Kimberly is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology, aiming to support children in their communication and developmental growth. She’s excited to combine her love of teaching with her future career in speech therapy, especially as it relates to early language development and bilingual learning.

When she’s not in the classroom, Kimberly loves spending time with friends and family, enjoying nature, and dancing—whether it’s at a celebration or just in her living room. Her positive energy, caring spirit, and genuine love for people make her a bright presence everywhere she goes.

Ms. Leah Mendoza

TEACHER

Leah Mendoza is a dedicated Teaching Assistant at Luna’s Montessori in Alameda, California, where she has been supporting children and the lead teachers since September 2024. In her role, Leah helps maintain a peaceful, safe, clean and wellorganized classroom environment, assist with daily routines such as arrival, dismissal, meals, rest time, outdoor play, and support children’s engagement in lessons and activities. She takes pride in helping prepare classroom materials, guiding children through transitions, and ensuring they feel secure, supported, and cared for throughout the day.

In addition to Leah’s hands-on classroom experience, she is currently furthering her professional development by completing an early childhood education course through the Montessori Teacher Education Center in San Leandro, California. Her background also includes strong customer service and administrative experience, as well as caregiving roles that have strengthened her sense of responsibility, patience, and integrity. Leah is passionate about nurturing children’s growth, well-being, and independence, and she is committed to providing thoughtful, dependable care in a Montessori learning environment.

Carolina

TEACHER

Carolina Machado Bahamón holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of San Buenaventura. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, she is 29 years old and brings strong academic preparation and meaningful hands-on experience to her work as an early childhood educator. From the beginning of her university studies, she completed teaching internships in foundations, preschools, and schools, allowing her to develop a solid and wellrounded professional background.

Carolina has also worked abroad as a nanny, an experience that enriched her professional growth through exposure to diverse cultures and the learning of new languages. This experience has contributed to a broad, inclusive, and reflective approach to her educational practice.

She is a committed, responsible, and creative educator, known for her kind, respectful, and warm interactions with children, families, and the educational community. Carolina is dedicated to creating safe, meaningful, and values-based learning environments that support each child’s development.

In her free time, she enjoys going to the movies, painting, and spending time with her family and friends.
